Schroth Racing drivers got off to a strong start at Daytona Speedweeks. Denny Hamlin had a near perfect speed week he won both the Sprint Unlimited and one of the Budwiser Dual races finishing 2nd in the Daytona 500. His Joe Gibbs teammate Matt Kenseth won the other Duel races.
Ben Kennedy started on Pole but it was Kyle Busch who won the camping world truck race in a thrilling last lap pass. Kyle Busch became the first driver to win at Daytona in the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Truck Series as well as ARCA Series.
Dylan Kwasniewski won the pole in his first ever NASCAR Nationwide Series start driving for Turner Scott Motorsport. Regan Smith got a bump draft from Trevor Bayne and beat Brad Keselowski to the finish line by .013 seconds to win the Nationwide series opener.
The Daytona 500 had a 6 hour plus rain delay but proved to NASCAR fans to be worth the wait. Austin Dillion returned the famous 3 car to the Sprint Cup Series by winning the pole for his Grandfathers team Richard Childress Racing. When the rain stopped and the light came on the action continued to the last lap. Dale Earnhardt Jr was able to hold off the field and score his second win in NASCARs biggest race the Daytona 500. It is hard to believe but his first win came 10 years ago in the 2004 race. The pure joy Jr showed in winning the race made it clear just how special the win was to him. Schroth Racing was happy to be on board for so many wins at Daytona to start the season off with a bang.
